PROFESSIONAL LAND SURVEYOR (PLS)

Job Summary


We are seeking an experienced Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to join our team. This role includes both field and office responsibilities, with a focus on accuracy, regulatory compliance, and quality deliverables.


Fields of Endeavor


• Right-of-Way surveys
• Boundary surveys
• Topographic surveys
• ALTA/NSPS Land Title Surveys
• Easement plats, exhibits, and related mapping 

• Legal descriptions 

• Road bore permits

• Road and construction surveys

• Construction stake-out and layout
• Pipeline route and as-built surveys 

• Oil & gas well location and access road surveys
• Flood and elevation certificates


Requirements


• Must pass a drug screening
• Active Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license
• Ability to obtain additional licensure as needed
• Valid driver’s license

• Occasional travel to project sites


Qualifications


• PLS license in good standing
• Proven experience across multiple survey disciplines
• Strong understanding of boundary law and surveying principles
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Strong communication, documentation, file management, and organizational skills


Key Responsibilities


• Conduct and supervise field surveys
• Research deeds, plats, and records
• Prepare, review, and certify survey plats, maps, and legal descriptions
• Ensure compliance with state, federal, and client specifications
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, utility companies, and other professionals
• Review and process field data for accuracy and completeness
• Assist with planning, scheduling, and deliverables
• Supervise survey crews and technicians as required
• Enforce compliance with safety protocols and company procedures

• Perform both office and field duties as needed


Software & Technology


• Candidates should have experience with some or all of the following:

  • AutoCAD / Civil 3D
  • MicroStation / InRoads
  • OpenRoads Designer
  • TopoDOT
  • Blue Sky Evolution
  • Leica Cyclone
  • Trimble Business Center
  • ArcGIS
  • ProjectWise
